If it is any help at all Easter that year is as late as it can be April 25th since that id linked to full/new moons etc., then perhaps the tide tables will provide a clue?

Since it's the wife who has the conflicting event suggest you just accept that since you cannot change either the as yet unannounced Salcombe dates and certainly not your wife's putative event you relax and accept the unknown inevitable.
