Topic : Where's the old design guide????

I've just looked at the Design Guide for the first time in a while and it's all changed. The new guide is all very well but it should complement and complete the old guide, not replace it!
Where's all the Ian Procter and Jack Holt designs, the foundations of our class??
Merlins are 60 years old not just 15 as the current version reflects.
I still want to be able to look up old boats and see which numbers cover which designs, what the difference is between a 9 and a 12 or a Riant and a Martine. The secondhand market and vintage wing are strong and the guide should reflect this with a COMPLETE reference.
Let's have the old guide back to complement the new and interlink them.

Yes, I do agree Pat - but they have just hidden it!! Go back to the main site and type in a search - you will go straight to the old deign guide.
PS - Stop playing around with all those old boats and send me those results !!!

Apologies, I had put these words in for the printed version:
"Vintage boats from the 40s to 60s are the subject of separate document."

That is now a link.

When i did the new version i deliberately left out the vintage boats as I know very little about them. Furthermore the only ones mentioned are Proctor designs which i thought was inadequate these days due to the level of interest in the vintage fleet.

Mervyn Allen with the help of the other other vintage gurus has agreed to produce us a vintage design guide which will hopefully encompass the Jack Holt designs and Adur designs. This will give a much better guide to what is on offer as these boats are quite common.

This will of course take time to produce, but will i'm sure be worth the wait!

Great. Thanks folks. Please don't lose the indexes by designer and the end pages with designs and numbers.

P.S. Ben - I sent them yesterday. Did them whilst Sandy was discovering that Lakeland's Sticky Stuff Remover is the best thing for spinnaker number glue! Thanks again for that. See you at Thames.
