Topic : Cotton Sail Trophy Vintage Event

The Shearwater vintage merlin and CVRDA weekend will include a special event for vintage boats on Saturday 29th September. For boats that were built before the days of terylene sails (ie pre 1959 or approx.sail no. 1000.) There will be a Cotton Sail Trophy event. Dig out those old cotton sails before the mice get to them and come to Shearwater on the Longleat estate in Wiltshire. Sail your vintage boat in vintage condition.
Details to follow but probably two races extracted from the day's events. A trophy and a vintage bottle of something special as the prize. On the Sunday it is a Vintage Merlin circuit event and cotton sail are not compulsory but if you wish to use them and get the advantage of an extra handicap for the CVRDA event then please do. This is a combined Merlin Vintage wing event and a Classic and Vintage Racing Dinghy Association event.
More info on www.cvrda.org goto forum-events. So far about five boats are down for this to date.

ps can lend a cotton suit if needed for a suitable boat.
