I've had an email from Pam and Brian Ellis who've lived in Belmont near Newcastle NSW, Australia for at least 35 years. Some of you may never have heard of Brian Ellis, he won the M R Championships in 1964 and again in 1966, he was crewed both times by Ken Ellis who sadly died last year. They were not related. They were very, very good. 

Brian has rheumatoid arthritis but he's able to get about. He's still President of the local sailing club on beautiful Lake Macquarie where he used to sail 16ft skiffs, he was one of the top helmsman. His brother Ralph and family live in nearby Valentine. You wouldn't have known Ralph unless you were sailing at Cadet Week in the early 50s! 

Brian was 70 in March, he and Pam have five grandchildren. They've had plenty of rain locally so they're not suffering the drought like everywhere else in OZ.
