Topic : Richard Parsloe - America's Cup

Has anyone else noticed that Richard Parsloe is an analyst for Sky Sport's coverage of the Louis Vitton challenger selection series.

Richard crewed Jonathon Turner in all his four Championship wins in the 80s. I think his simple but accurate descriptions of the racing and particular incidents are excellent.

If you get the chance you should go to Valencia.. I've been going on and off for the last two years due to my work involvement with the AC.
Recently went out on Alinghi's support boat to watch Act 13 the fleet racing. Should be back out in a couple of weeks time for the LV semi finals.Probably go out and watch with another team.

Not meaning to name drop either, but I was involved heavily with the succesfull London Olympic bid and held several world records in my day. I also run a thriving Indian restaurant and textile business.

When I knew Richard, his surname was spelt Parlsow, I'm sure.

Here is pic of me crewing him in my (yes my) graduate (sn 1682) Sunderland 1976 or was it 1977?

Alan the Year Book confirms that you're right. I couldn't remember his nickname so I'm glad it's been mentioned. I think his dad Bob Parslow sailed at Thames S.C. in Twelves if I remember correctly.

His dad, may well have sailed 12's but as long as I can remember he sailed Merlin's at Hampton, sold his MR a year or two ago.

That MR was probably 'Second Chance' no. 3176 which I owned in the 80s. Phil Morrison, Andy Street and Phil again had first three places in her at the 1979/80/81 Champs. I sold her to Martin Evans when I got hooked on gliding, he must have sold her to Bob.

The Merlin Bob sold was Desiree 3354, which I now own and which Bob bought from Richard Page.
