First start not before 11:00, and they tend to have two of the three races back to back.

Thanks to the team at Shustoke for a great fun day.

Now I have officially handed over to Richard Turner, Banbury, to run the Midland Circuit in its 40th year!

Well done Richard,
welcome to the MROA team.

The thanks should go to Chairs / ex-MCC (a case of split personality surely) for building the circuit up into what it is today.

The next Midland Circuit event is the Banbury Open on Sunday, 22nd April when we will also be celebrating the 40th birthday of the Midland Circuit. Lots of free beer and bubbly.

The question is will the winner from 40 years ago be there to defend his trophy?

The 2007 Silver Tiller started with 33 boats competing in the Shustoke Sailing Club event in Warwickshire. Twenty two clubs were represented from as far away as Blackpool and Fleetwood, Salcombe and Frensham Ponds indicating the fleet will flourish again in 2007.
Winds up to a force 4 gave entertaining sailing and caused only one or two to capsize, although its northerly direction meant that the beats had to be short and consequently rounding of windward marks proved interesting. The direction allowed a long three-sailed reach. Tom Stewart and Liam Dempsey from Northampton Sailing Club put down a marker for the season winning with two straight bullets. The Salcombe pair of Glen Truswell and Paul Davies improved with each race to take second place with 5 points. Dave Winder and Pippa Tayler from Hollingsworth Lake counted a second and a fourth to take third spot.
With no recalls, no black flags and only one protest all day can it be that the Merlins have all made a New Year’s resolution or have they just given them up for Lent?

It was certainly a good day out at Shustoke - thanks all.
Really looking forward to the next one at Chi on Sunday.
I am not sure about this 'new years resolution'
Perhaps the race officer was influenced by our great seafaring hero - not so much 'England expects' more 'I see no ships'. But only in the last race I think.
