MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Club Locations/GPS

Further to my work creating POI files of the 82 or so Merlin Clubs that can be loaded into your GPS, I have now put these on a web site, with other useful sailing links.

I have also put links to the clubs through a pull down onto Multi-Map to provide an on-line locator. Please take a look and give me any feed back.

I have designed the site as a useful portal for dinghy sailors to use as there home page, and will add things as time permits and suggestions come in. So if you like , set it as your home page, or a favorite, or add a link from your site if you have one.

Please follow the link 'GPS Sailing Clubs POI' to access the club locator and download files.

Thanks

I'll work on it, might take me a few years of sundays when I'm not sailing! Suggest some primary ones for me to research - I'll start with Lake Garda

p.s. Debt will be repaid by buying your Amazon products from my site, cost you no more than buying it from Amazon direct, or doing your Google Searches through my pages. Costs you nothing!

If you cannot get from home to open meeting club by using a map, what chance have you got in navigating your way round a new stretch of water/windshifts etc without any outside help ?

I like the fact that I don't have to argue with my wife and know that I will get to the club relaxed, in time, in the knowledge that I won't get lost.

I presume your are from the vintage wing. Personally I prefer the extra time I get to sail by having an expoxy/carbon boat, rather than spending the time in the garage varnishing each winter.

Each to their own!

I can vouch for the fact that in-car navigational devices reduce husband-wife arguments.

Sometimes, spending too long varnishing can cause husband-wife arguments though....

Ok, I have put up Garda, Medemblik, Palma and Rungsted, but I couldn't find Dournanez, is it in Turkey as I found a Turkish sailing fed web site but i don't speak turkish.

Please check them out through the link to GPS Sailing Clubs POI, those who have been there let me know if I got the right clubs/locations. Anyone want a GPS file format let me know.

p.s. I have added a game of battleships, under the games link, for those that might be bored at work. I have also added some seasonal weather!

Any more Euro or UK clubs of significant, open to add more, I am cocious I havene't go any NI or Eire clubs, any suggestions, sned me the lat/long if you have them, makes it easier for me.
