Topic : Charter boat for Salcombe

Hi
I am hoping to charter a merlin for Salcombe week. I am a London based Tammey sailor. Hoping to charter a 'recent competitive boat' and would welcome any leads/ suggestions.
Many thanks
James

I see on the web site 100 boats a entred for Salcombe, with 92 paces, so 8 on the waiting list unless John has a cunning plan?

p.s. if you have got an entry then the Pink Boat (as featured on the Dingy Show mag)is available. Whilst by no means modern, 3394, it has been substainially (but not yet completely) de-leaked, and was going pretty fast on the Tideway, a good position ruined by a complete and utter novice style helmsman error at the turning mark.

Alan, not your fault, i think everyone made a mess of the only mark we needed to round!! Cirtainly the boat on the inside of me made a mess of it and let about 6 boats round the inside of us!!

You where going quick or wasa i going particularly slow!?

The WAPB is quite a quick boat, I think I have got it well sorted now and once I have got final leaks out it will make someone an awesome bargain as I don't really need it now we have the new Winder. Don't forget Mark won the over 10 year old prize a the Bala Inlands last year, and that was with full rate leaks, and the boat/Jacko won a race at Salcombe when new.

Yes in the process of getting a Salcombe entry, have reserved a spot.
Thanks for the offer but I was hoping to charter something of the 'plastic Winder' variety or similar. If you need someone to vouch for my sailing ability speak to Rob Wilder or Joe Mc from Tammey.

By the way you thrashed most of us at Tamesis on Saturday in 1849 I think you could get very respectable position in 3394!

You could buy a CT from about £2k, keep it afterwards and do a few more events.

Come on James get a boat you know you want one... Especially now you joined the MROA on saturday!!
For anyone looking at chartering a boat to James I can confirm he is a good yachter but I'd prefer it if you stayed behind me in future!
