Does anybody own a Wyche & Coppock, Proctor X11, if anybody has seen the previous messages, i am looking to return Sail no: 2040 Robin Hood to it's original build and seek guidance and photo's in order to undertake the task, can anybody help?
2040 has been stripped bare by the previous owners in anticipation of sanding down and re-varnishing, however in the persons eagerness to undertake the task, a lot of items went missing? additionally the mast is missing so if anybody could guide me towards what mast was made for the Mk X11 I would appreciate it.

When you've got it back on the water come and sail at the CVRDA meetings. We love old Merlins and you'll get a favourable handicap for keeping her original.
see www.cvrda.org for more info.

Would almost certainly be a Proctor D, probably without spreaders.

I have just picked up an old MKXII which i am about to restore to former glory but she is in a bit of a state with no decks etc so she will be no use to you at the moment. What did you need to know?

Have a chat with Mervyn Allen who organises the Vintage WIng (details under committee on website) and see if he has any XIIs going to one of the Vintage events.

If it's any help 2121 from about the same time (early 1968) is a Proctor 9D and has an old Proctor D secion mast WITH spreaders and is 5867mm between black bands which I'm told is a 21ft 6ins mast. Mast seems to be original as certificate has those measurements and sail measured in 1968 fits it.
Hope this gives you some help.

All the Mark XII's that I know of had either Proctor D sections or the old C section if the crew was lighter. Not sure but I think the Superspars M7 is similar to a D in bend characteristics

No, i don't have pics but if restore what is there you can't go too far wrong. Mine has had a Spinny chute put in so she is not original anyway. She is No. 1126 so a bit older than yours.

Hi, at the end of last year I was given 1477 which is a xii by WC it's in quite original condition as far as I can tell.( though not quite pristine but still v. sound.) I thought I had some digital pics of her but can't locate them now. I passed the boat onto a friend in our club and we sailed it last week without doing any work and she is very nice to sail. I think Steve is bringing her up to the Tideway but I will try and find the photos, or can take some more. If you have any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.

What part of the world are you in? If you check in the MR yearbook, you can see the Mk XIIs, check out who has them and try to visit a club where one is.

If you join the Merlin Rocket Association, you get the Yearbox which lists all the boats, designs and names plus gives contact details for all those boat owners who belong.
Where in England??

Having just looked at my copy of the yearbook, I have realised that Ten Sixty-Six which belongs to Tim Bury at my club, Banbury, is also a Proctor XII built by Wyche & Coppock - its a small world.

She does not live down at the club but if you whiz me an email, I'll pass it on to Tim who is currently up in Scotland sailing bigger boats for a week. 1066 is in fairly original condition, if I recall correctly - she only comes down to the club for the Vintage Open but Tim does do many of the Vintage Opens.
