is the maximum length for the spinnaker poles 2.2meters or 2.3meters? i was told it was 2.2 but i was just reading the design guide and it says 2.3?

Ignore the design guide, read the rules in your yearbook.

If you are sailing on a tight strecth of water and see no benefit in flying the spinny, would the rules prevent a fly away jib stick being rigged? possibly on a temporary rigging so that the flyaway jib pole can be used when the wind is not right or too strong for confident spinny flying??

or should i stop being a big girls blouse and use the spinny in any conditions??!

If it is too tight for the spinny, then the jib is pretty much sheeted in, although jib sheet barber haulers, as fitted on most merlins, help you open the slot a little. No point having a jib stick.
