Could somebody advise me to the rule of fairing in my old brass rubbing straights i.e. is this legal...?  I notice the new Winders don't have any at all

from the rules
"A KEELBAND of metal or plastic and of depth not less than
2mm and not exceeding 7mm shall run the whole length of the
hull."

which it does on the winders too, although you 
1. have to look closely
2. doesn't run up the stem  (but is the whole length)

Does it have to protude 2mm or does it just have to be 2mm...?

Depth = protrudes ??
