I take it that an acquisition was subsequent to your requisition?

1137 was a Ian Proctor mkXII built by Wyche & Coppock in Nottingham,
built in 1960 last listed as 'Tabasco'.
You probably want to follow the links to the Vintage section and I'm sure photos would pretty soon identify the old girl.

If the hull is 1137 she was built by Wyche & Coppock of Nottingham probably in 1960 to the Proctor Mark X11 design. She was called Yutu and I think the first owner was P. Radford of Midland S.C.
By the time the 1963 year book came out she had been renamed Peter Twinkletoes and was owned by P. T. Mansfield at Burton S.C.
By 1965 she had changed owners again to H. Robinson and had returned to B'ham.
The boat may have been a bit promiscuous as by 1967 she had changed owner to A. C Pillinger back at Midland.
The 1969 year book shows her with the same owner but she had changed her name again to Tabasco.
By 1988 she had gone to G.Briscoe at Bartley S.C. which I think is in Worcs. I am sorry but the year books show nothing more about what was probably a very well built boat.
If you can restore her down to weight with modern sails she might still be a good inland club racer particularly in light winds.

Barry got there before me. She wouldn't have a bow tank cos I think we had one of the first in Maritime 1926.

Hi Guys,

Thanx a lot for the help so far,
was wondering, if anybody knows of the sail number 1137 being used elsewhere, as am planning on having on water very soon in order to work the rigging out correctly, and get the best set up. before attacking the woodwork.

Have spoken to my club they do not mind me sailing on this number provided i am not offending anybody, or using somebody elses number. Is there a list of registered boats somewhere that are still in action that could be sued to find this out?

Don't worry about this as long as your duty officer on the day knows your sail number. Lots of us have been given the odd sail and tried it out before changing the number.

One of the perks of joining the association is that you get an annual yearbook with all of the sail numbers and ownners in it although as you will see from this thread, people are only too happy to answer specific questions.

Mine is 1333, also a Proctor XII. I can measure or take pictures of anything on her for you if it helps to confirm whether yours is the same design.
