Topic : New Member Needs Boom

Hi, checked the ads but didn't see a place to post...sorry. I own a MR of debatable design/origin. Claims to be sail number 2435 but doesn't measure right, had the debate raging here about six months ago and haven't sorted it yet.

Anyhow...it is older, and I need sails for it. Thinking they will be hard to come by, perhaps I'm better looking for a longer boom as mine is about 2300mm long and doesn't reach the transom--where my boat is sheeted. (Thanks Paul Davies for that insight). Anyhow...current boom is tracked, but probably want an untracked so as to take a modern sail. Measured my current luff at 5700-5800mm (stretch throws me) and foot at 2200mm. Looking for about 2600mm boom. Anyone have one laying around they can part with for not too much? I'll still have to buy the sails...

Thanks!

Nobody has a spare boom laying around? I can't believe it! Is there some other info I should provide to spark interest?

Do you have the old ie tall rig? mast lenght 22'6".If so I have a set of sails you may want to have a look at.

I measured my current luff at about 5800mm (about 19'), but don't have the mast length to hand, sorry. It is hog-stepped, and I'd guess based on where the gooseneck is (in my mind's eye), 22'6" would be about right.

Are your sails in good condition? Jib? Where can I see them, and how much are you looking for? Thanks for your help!

Na, tall rig luff is 6180. You have a standard sail.
