Well it's been quite a busy year training-wise. We've run events at Banbury, Rutland, Cookham, Lyme Regis and Tamesis. Support has generally been very good (record attendance at Rutland) with the notable exception of Lyme, which I am putting down to the fact that there had been the champs plus a whole string of open meetings over the preceding weeks and people had just overdosed on travelling and sailing. Many thanks to all those who have been involved with organizing and running the programme.

Once again we have booked Rutland for our main three day event over the early May bank holiday weekend - as usual this will be held Friday to Sunday with the Monday to lick wounds or score some house points. Details and booking form in the next magazine, or keep an eye on the website.
Whitstable and Parkstone are already planning their 2005 training and as our resources are finite, if you'd like something at your own club, do get in touch with me ASAP.
The RYA is giving more and more support to clubs and classes and is currently offering training for coaches / trainers either free or at very low cost, so if you are interested in doing some coaching or training yourself, now is the time to get the paperwork sorted. Contact me for details.

Rigging and Boat Set Up
We get masses of inquiries for information on tuning. However being a development class means that unless you have a modern mass produced boat giving useful advice is almost impossible without seeing the boat concerned and even if you attend a one-day training session there is rarely time to do justice to the issue. However this is one matter which we can and do cover pretty well at Rutland; the 3 day format affords the time and often a windless morning provides the ideal opportunity. So if you would like a class expert to give your boat the once over, be there next Spring with your notebook and toolbox!

The training section of the website is gradually being updated - you can now download the Fact Sheets we hand out at events, and the Guidance Sheets that we give to coaches and event organisers. The list of events will build up as dates are confirmed during 2005.

Good sailing,
