'One string' Raking Rig System

Latest news - Summer 2004
Guy & David Winder have recently devised the 'single string' rig system, one of which was fitted to Duncan Salmon's new Winder Merlin, on show at the Dinghy exhibition earlier in the year. David said, "it took a lot of development time to get the purchases right on every control but we are really pleased with the end result."

Rake and de-rake is achieved through one control, with all the other rig adjustments (kicker, rig tension, lowers) self-compensating for the rig change.

Overpowered? No problem, un-cleat 'rig forward' and pull the 'rig back' string. Going downwind? Pull 'rig forward' string. With rake, rig tension, kicker and lowers all led neatly to labelled cleats on the thwart. The system looks clean, effective, and simple to use.
