Those of us at Chichester last Saturday enjoying a fabulous day were told about this regatta to which all Merlin Rockets are invited. I have reproduced the text from the CYC website below. As always, Merlin Rockets are made extremely welcome at CYC, and this should be a splendid day's sailing.

Jack Holt Centennial 2012 Open - Supported by Holt Marine Limited
Sunday 22nd April 2012

Chichester Yacht Club is pleased to announce a celebration of the life and dinghies of Jack Holt on Sunday 22nd April 2012, who would have been 100 years old in 2012. See also the press release at Y and Y

Jack Holt was Britain’s premier post-war dinghy designer, designing the original Merlin, Mirror, Enterprise, GP14, Solo, Hornet and many others.

Jack was a member of Chichester YC in his latter years, often seen sailing his red Solo in the harbour. He was always happy to chat to members about his many boat designs and achievements.

More than any other sailor, Jack Holt created many low cost dinghies that introduced so many of us to dinghy sailing – Thanks Jack.

CYC is celebrating the event, on the evening of Saturday 21 April with a Jack Holt themed, & informal entertainment. Competitors sailing on the Sunday are most welcome to this event, (no admission cost). We have a bar and dining area with extensive catering menus.
