Day one of the Lymington ST showed to be a promising day, with the warm sun out and forecast of moderate winds easing everyone into the sailing weekend. However, on going out to the start it was clear to see the lack of wind would delay our 13:30pm start. After a short delay the wind filled in slightly allowing the race committee to start the first race. With strong tide the start was a tricky one, the individual recall flag was raised only to see a few boats return back to the line. Jasper Barnham & Graham Sexton led the way round with Richard Whitworth & Caroline Croft in 2nd only to find both boats to be over the line at the finish, meaning a well deserved win for Richard Dee & Chris Gould and 2nd being Duncan Salmon & Harriet Salmon.

The 2nd race was then underway with boats being a little more cautious on the start. The win this time going to Richard Whitworth & Caroline, with Olly Turner & Alex Warren in 2nd, Simon Potts & Luke Shaw in 3rd and Richard Dee & Chris Gould finished in 4th to leave them leading the 1st day overall and one point behind are Olly & Alex.

Day two was a lot windier racing. Bart's Bash was a huge success in the Solent and beginning the race with both Merlin's and 800's was an interesting start indeed. Winners of Bart's Bash went to Jasper and Graham who dominated the whole way round as well as dominating the next race, with a close 2nd grasped by Olly and Alex round the last mark with Richard Whitworth and Caroline in 3rd, and Simon & Luke in 4th.

Going into the last race it could still be anyone's game, although with a good start from Olly & Alex they were able to fend of the attacks from Simon & Luke giving them the win of the race and overall, ending in a Salcombe style fist pump from Olly in delight! Richard Dee & Chris Gould finished 4th in the last race, giving them 2nd overall. Simon & Luke's 2nd in the last race placed them 3rd overall. A brilliant weekend of racing, which could not have been accomplished without the great work of Lymington sailing club and their team.
