Open Day at Hayling Island SC
May Day Bank Holiday, Monday 6 May 2013
Hayling Island Sailing Club will be holding an Open Day on the May Day Bank Holiday, Monday 6 May, from 10 am, when anybody who is interested in finding out more about what the Club has to offer will be welcome to visit.
 HISC offers among the finest sailing, shore and social facilities anywhere, and supports a wide range of sailing-related activities, including dinghy racing and cruising, sailing training, youth sailing, windsurfing and social sailing, all based in a modern clubhouse overlooking Chichester Harbour, with adjacent accommodation.
The Open Day will be a full show-case of what HISC has to offer, both ashore and afloat, for both sailors and would-be sailors.  Ashore, there will be displays of Club activities and members to talk to throughout the day, fun activities for children, afternoon entertainment, and lunch will be available in the Club’s spacious bars and restaurants.   There will be opportunities to go afloat for a trial sail with an instructor in the Club’s own fleet of dinghies, or one of the club launches, and Olympic silver medallist, Saskia Clark, will be there to offer help and advice. 
Those wishing to bring their own dinghy will be welcome to join in the RNLI open pursuit race being held that day, or just launch and sail from HISC for the day.  Advice will be available about joining the Club, and we'll be waiving the normal entrance fee for those taking out membership on the day. We appreciate that this weekend is a popular one for sailing events, so for your members we are happy to extend this offer for applications received before the end of May.
