Topic : Banbury on Sunday 10th and road closure

Banbury Silver Tiller coming up on Sunday 10th and as well as a good Midland and Northern contingents, we also see quite a number from London and all points south.

The latter need to be aware of a road closure on the A361 Banbury - Daventry road between Junction 11 on the M40 and Chipping Warden. Most from the south will use this road to get to the club (which is actually north of Banbury between Byfield and Upper Boddington).

Detailed advice on how to reach us while this road is closed can be found on following the link below.

See you all on Sunday.

Weather looks set fine for Sunday at Banbury and some wind as well. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Before anyone asks, the results from Sunday's Open at Banbury SC can be found on the link below. Report to follow in the fullness of time.

People seemed to enjoy the tour through the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire/Northamptonshire countryside caused by the road closure. It was a glorious day for a trip in the country but the sailing could have done with a little more breeze.

Mr T please check the final two positions as it appears a small but important error may have been made.

Hey Richard,

Why's the road closed and where? For nothing other than idle curiosity...

Martin - will check.

Jon - raising height of road to allow environment agency to flood surrounding fields when we get rainful such as was encountered at easter 1998 - don't say that the EA does not move swiftly! More details at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/banbury

I have a number of other pics and if I haven't included your boat for some reason, send me an email with the boat number plus hull & spinnaker colour and I'll see if we've got any of you.

Richard, I don't know if you have any of us. Blue/white hull 3645. We seem to be invisable to photographers, only Demelza has the power to see us!
