MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Banbury on Sunday

The reservoir is full, the forecast looks good and we have lots of food laid on so make sure that you are there on Sunday.

Current plans are to fit in two races back to back before lunch then a third race in the afternoon. Briefing for competitors at 10.30am - just so that you can catch up on which buoy is which.

Coffee / tea plus penguins, wagon wheels, etc will be available from about 9.30am. Lunch will be a choice of either lasagne or pork ragout (pork, beans, peppers and apricots) with vegetarian lasagne for them that must. Usual range of marvellous puddings to follow. Tea with usual lashings of cake at the end of racing.

Current forecast is ESE 12 mph with gusts to 20mph so crews had better practice their spinnaker gybing as if it remains in this direction then you will be gybing down the length of the reservoir with a nice long beat back up!

Anyone who wants to leave their boat overnight on the Saturday should call me on 01926 812694 / 0798 4430055. I will be on site on Sunday from around 0900 for early risers.

Look forward to seeing you.

Richard

PS see link for directions.

i hear some people are taking their boats from Shustoke to Banbury by canal. Whatever way you think best, be there.

Measurement services available.

Then they will miss the first gun (and several after).

Did any sailing actually happen at Shustoke - when I rang at luchtime, they were all in bar drinking and had not got on the water.

Forecast looks better for Sunday so roll up.

Any reason why the page is titled "Gents Changing Room"?

Richard, dunno if you got my mail?
Is it OK if we send a copy of the report to Holt, who are sponsoring the series?
Cheers.

Mags

Sorry that I have not been very accessible - quite happy if report goes to Holt.

I have a minor software problem at moment and asked someone else to put the page up and it looks as though they simply pasted the report into an existing page and then forgot to change the title. Mind you, if you had been there on Sunday, Mens Changing Room is very apt title as it was packed out!!!!!!
