I have a 1966 wooden merlin rocket. i noticed, on  the foot of the mast, a small winch attached to it. Does anyone have any ideas of the design history of the mast itself? Or information about this part in oarticular? Please email me at

it is a "Kicker/Vang pulley" - a job which is now achieved with "cascades" of blocks
