MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : 3774

Hi,
was reading the report os the ST at salcombe - 60 boats is stunning. we are working hard to get our woodie finished to join in.
i saw that panther won 3774? but that brearey and birrell won? the photos look like they are not in the (black) panther and are in fact 3778 (?) is that some boat swapping going on or is that an admin error?
surely you can't enter a boat then sail on a different one?

I believe they just swapped mainsails.

From the Merlin Week NOR which I assume to be the same/similar too the open meeting one:

6 CHANGING CRAFT etc

6.1 Change of sail number or craft – A change of sail number or craft, may be permitted by a written application to the Race Office/Race Committee

So there is a protocol for dealing with this.

Christian and Sam sailed their Winder (3774). I'm unsure why Panther is the name but assume this is an admin error.

What a great weekend of sailing that was - hard work but lots of fun. Thanks to Salcombe for putting on a great event :)

3788 (light blue) at the top of the line sporting 3774's sails and 3774 (black), at the bottom of the line, sporting 3778's sails. Simples.
