Topic : What are you wearing?

Just wondering what is people's experience of current sailing clothing? I've been sailing for over 60 years, so I started in shorts, tee-shirts woolly jumpers and canvas deck shoes! For the past 30 years I've been sailing/windsurfing in a variety of wetsuits. My current shorty wetsuit is overdue for replacement after 10 years trusty service and I am overwhelmed with choice......Do I go for Rooster's Supertherm Longjohn, with Polypro top and occasional Pro Light Aquafleece? Or Gill's Thermoskin skiff suit with Hydrophobe top etc etc etc. I sail in the Lake District (deep water that can be very cold - but I try not to spend too much time in it!). I mostly sail between March and October. What is your experience/recommendation?

I like the rooster supertherm, hiking pads and aquafleece with some thermal leggings underneath for the really cold days. Nice set of Magic Marine 3/4 length hikers for the warmer months. Really depends what takes your fancy.

+1 for the long john/polypro base with top layers to suit the conditions. You can wear the supertherm in all but the most baking of days.

I have the Gill Thermoskin Skiff suit and love it, I wear it all year round and layer up accordingly depending on the time of year.
