MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Salcombe Silver Tiller. 13th/14th April 2019. The sixty boat limit approaches.

To all who have entered, thank you very much for supporting our event. We really do appreciate it.

At the time of writing, we have fifty, that is fifty, Merlin Rockets entered. Though the NOR is not express (and it shortly will be), there is a sixty boat limit on entry which is imposed on racing, by the Salcombe Harbour for valid and well rehearsed reasons.

Thus, if you would like to race, please do enter soon to avoid disappointment. PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP AND EXPECT TO ENTER ON THE DAY...

May we remind you that Hywel Bowen-Perkins is delivering a talk on Friday evening of the event about his ownership of an historic and beautiful Little Ship? Hywels boat played a key part in rescuing around 300,000 soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940. This fascinating presentation will be supported by a meal which you can book via the SYC website if you would like to join us.

We have Byngs Bingo and a meal at the club on Saturday evening. Again, please book a meal if you would like one, via the SYC website.

You also get to race your Merlin with prospect of some very nice prizes from Salcombe Gin, to whom we are most grateful for sponsorship.

Thanks everyone; greatly looking forward to seeing you all.

Graham Cranford Smith pp SYC.
