Topic : 2017 HD Sails Midland Circuit

The 2017 Midland Circuit gets underway with a combined Silver Tiller and Midland Circuit event at Midland Sailing Club on Sunday the 12th March.
I am delighted to announce that once again Jim Hunt and Andy “Taxi” Davis have agreed to be our headline sponsor and have generously donated a jib to be presented at the end of the 2017 HD Sails Midland Circuit season.

Our 2016 prize giving will take place in the bar at Midland Sailing club after the Silver Tiller prizes are awarded. This will include the prize draw for 2016 HD Sails Midland Circuit Jib, remember if you qualified for the 2016 HD Sails Midland Circuit and sailed one or more none ST event and your at Midland then your in with a chance of taking home a super quick brand new jib.
Glassware and trophies provided by the MROA will be awarded to the first three qualifying helms and crews, the first visiting Helm and Crew and first and second qualifying lady competitors.

Other prizes too from our other very generous and friendly sponsors who include:

Fast Fit Plus Ltd. Dinghy Tech, Winder Boats, Birmingham Dinghy Services & Chandlery

Please remember to use their services!

For 2017 there are 6 venues confirmed with two others awaiting confirmation which will be added to the fixtures list in due course.

4 events to qualify 1 of which must be a non Silver Tiller status event.
All events are nominally within 60 miles of Midland Sailing club and you should live or sail at a club within that distance to but we are open too and positively welcome visitors to the circuit from further a field, in 2016 two Wembley boats qualified and boats from the North of England have previously joined in the fun.

Hi Martin,
we are planning to be at the event with 3569 (time zulu) other than the normal insurance bits, do we need to have the measurement certificates with us on the day, we are very much looking forward to racing on the circuit with you all, just need to get my head down and finish of the boat as i currently have the internals stripped, as she is having some much needed TLC.
Cheers Ben

Thank you to Midland sailing Club and the Merlin fleet for a fantastic day on the water, our first day out at a silver tiller event and it was a great day out with some great sailors. Well done to the galley for a lovely lunch. Sorry couldn't stay for prize giving.
Looking forward to more of the series.

I didnt say anything on the evening because I perceived that the floor had had enough of being talked at, but i'd like to say a big thank you to Martin and Karen who organise the Midland Circuit. It is no easy task to:

Persuade clubs to have us
Find dates that don't clash and get the clubs to use them
Persuade sponsors to part with money
Deal with all the admin (Results/prizes/glasses/engraving/etc,etc)

Thanks both, looking forward to getting out this year.
