MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club

Hi Folks,  I recall some conversation last year about building up a fleet again in the Bristol area; I think this was driven by the 'Prime of Lifers'.  Based on this years showing we don't seem to travel very well!!  Anyhow, we have moved up from Weymouth & Portland as it is just a bit too far to travel from home in Wiltshire and are now basing ourselves at BCYC (Axbridge Resrvoir).  Anyone looking for a club in the area (or looking to avoid the shallows and weed at Chew Valley?!) might find it is worth a look.

We've just joined chew valley and dropped the boat off at the weekend!!  Sure you don't fancy it?  It's not really shallow or weedy...

Don't worry, Ben; they put them all back. Unfortunately, now they are angry!!

Why would you put all that effort into catching a thing like that and not eat it?

Obviously so you can have the same thrills when you catch it next time when it will be bigger.  Pike is OK to eat but nothing particularly special.

I have been a member of BCYC for 45 years (yes I am that old!). We used to get 20 Merlins out for club racing but sadly none at the club sailing at the moment.
I am thinking of getting back into a real boat soon so would welcome some competition.
Watch this space, lines are being drawn.
