Many of you will already be aware; however for those who aren't, the beautiful Maureen/Baba passed away last Friday (10th July). Rather poignantly, this was at 2.30pm: the same time as the start of the final race at Salcombe week.
Maureen and her late husband, Neil, will be well remembered by those who have sailed Merlins in the past. For those more recently joined, many of you will have seen Maureen watching racing from 'Ronnie' the rib and digging sandcastles on Millbay well into her 80s. Maureen was with her adoring daughters, Jill and Deb, when she died, and enjoyed hearing them recall stories from the past, as well as how the current Salcombe week was going.
Maureen leaves behind her daughters Jill and Deb, son-in-law Pat, grandchildren Simon, Anna, Jen and Pip, and great grandchildren Molly and Elliot.
Maureen's funeral is on Friday July 24 at Chilterns Crematorium, Whielden Lane, Amersham, HP7 0ND.
Everyone is welcome back at the Blakes house afterwards - 2 Popes Lane SL6 9NY - for refreshments and to share reminiscences.
Jen and Pip
