HI all I have just taken ownership of 3300 Dr Bloo and was hoping to find out some info on her?The sails have 3300 on but the hull has been stripped so no number found as yet, so any info would be great. The boat will need to be refitted but looking forward to sailing her sometime in the future.

According to the year book the boat with sailnumber 3300 is named Perfection, built in1982 by Laurie Smart and is an NSM2. Number should be on either the thwart or the hog.
Dr Bloo does not appear as a. Registered name, so best check with RYA, could of course been registered after the 2014 year book was printed.

Yes, she was indeed called Perfection and was built by Laurie for me. Had a Proctor D mast which had to be replaced by a stiff Superspar (M3!)

Should have added that the hull was a cream colour and that when buily, it had buoyancy bags, not the rear tank that it had latterly (not fitted by me). Pretty sure that the number was stamped on the thwart

 It could be that you have sails from 3300, and that the boat is a different No, do you have the certificate?

 

Hi, I owned 3300 for a number of years; she was sold to a guy from Lymington SC in 2008. A lot of sails went with her and they could easily have been passed on. The boat indeed had a retro fitted rear tank and the mast was stepped on the top of the bow tank/centreboard case. I recall the boat number was carved into the thwart, but the boat did have centreboard case leak problem and maybe the thwart was removed if a replacement case was fitted? She was called Perfection when sold and was beautifully built by Lawrie Smart to the highest standard.
