Topic : Another name on the Glory Board

"Yes good result boys - well done!\r\nI see the Folkboat that won was sailed by Ed Donald. Does anyone know if he is related to Malcom Donald from Hamble (who I think has won this event hiself in a Folkboat)\r\nMalcom is a great photographer and video man who has many images of Merlins in the past, he was helping out at the Warming Pan this year.\r\nNice to see real amateur sailors in affordable boats come the fore."

"We didnt do to badly in Mignon the Fife designed and built one fifth scale model of Shamrock 1, coming second in the Classics. On board were Bob Fisher, Jim Saltonstall MBE (coaching legend), Mike Savage (climbing guru) and me.\r\nFinished at 21.22.10 just inside the time limit. Long day as we were up at 3am and back at half hour past midnight the next day."

Well done White Mischief who at 5pm on Friday was not going on the Round the Island as her engine was not working. Great that she got there and did so well.

"The Merlin Rocket 'Hall of Fame' has to add yet another name after the marathon yesterday that was the Round the Island Race. For 90 minutes it looked as if the Hanse 291, sailed by Lymington yotter Andy Hind (who is normally found in 3478, Terrabyte), would take top honours on corrected time. Then as the shadows lengthened, a Folkboat crept in and by just 2 minutes on corrected time pushed our man back to second.\r\n\r\nAndy's crew included Colin Merritt, who has also been seen recently in a Merlin Rocket (after having been fed into a wetsuit!). Given the conditions yesterday, this is one of the great performances, well done to all on board.\r\n\r\nDougal"
