Topic : Breaking Boat

Agree totally with Jez - Merlin's do not sell immediately.\r\n\r\nThe advert makes no mention of the deck stepped mast although it talks about a raking rig but I have heard people say this about hog stepped rigs. Would be useful to add this to the words on the as.

"That's a crying shame, I hate to see a perfectly serviceable boat go to waste. But as I have three unserviceable boats, I'm afraid that I'm not going to be assisting with an offer."

I wouldn't break this up; it looks like a nice package and will find a buyer given time on the site. If you have no luck in next 2 months get in touch and I may take it off you to re-sell!!

"It is a shame, particularly after all the work Tim went to piecing it back together after the previous owner to me did the same thing to her. Seems she is destined for the bin."

"That is true, but there are certain things that just take time to sell. Any Merlin is a quite individual product. There is not going to be allot of people looking for a Merlin (in the grand scheme) and fewer people looking to buy an NSM 4. I agree if it were priced under £1000 it would likey sell quickly, but I disagree that it is not worth what Tim is asking. He just needs to be a bit more patient until the right person comes along.\r\n\r\nThis is a good boat built by a reputable builder to a good design. Not only that but it is deckstepped to take a modern rig and so could be a competative boat on the lakes and ponds. Well worth a look to anyone looking to upgrade an older boat or enter the class."

"She looks lovely. Price seems fair.\r\nDo put it on Y&Y too, but with all classes of dinghy you often have to wait a good few months if not more."

"Peter, looking at the similarly aged boats on the for sale list my boat is priced fairly. I am not in the market to give the thing away. If it wont sell then it goes bit by bit."

If she were priced correctly she would sell. As any salesman will tell you if something doesn't sell it's priced wrong.
