which sailmaker has a Merlin hat and an upside down Merlin hat in the reverse corner as their Logo (with no name on!!) 
does anybody know, please??

Thank you Dougal : yes it (the main) does have a blue stripe, also spreading it out today : it is the same width all the way up (longest batten is the top one, the sail number is not central, and the MerlinRocket symbol looks to have been hand coloured
are they additional pointers??

Almost certain that you're looking at the Bruce Banks logo! Do the sails have a royal blue edging?
One of the great sailmakers to the class, not only back in the 1960s, but they're still making NR sails today!
