Hi,
I'm looking for 600mm of ~60mm carbon tube to use for a king-post on my river merlin. Would any one know where the best place to source such tubing is? Or alternatively does anyone have any suitable sections laying around (a broken mast/boom piece might do)?
Many thanks
Andy Douglas

Best to use Aerospace grade filament wound carbon tube as it is a higher grade, and though slightly more money, well worth the expense. We use it for the carbon wings on the B14s. We have a new stock of 55 mm tube coming in very soon. We stock gauge 5 mm and 2.2 mm. On the B14 we use the 5 mm for the front struts which have to take a shock loading of 1700 kg+ and sleeved 2.2 mm on the rear that takes approx. 1400 kg shock loads. If you would like to discuss drop me a line and I will be able to give you more information.
Bye for now

I bought some from link below, it was worth the price just to see if it was any good. It's absolutely fine for king posts, even spinny poles. The key can be machined off. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300919635899

I have a bit off the top of a 49er mast at home you can have fro free if it is of any use, it's about 2 foot long[ remainder made into a boom].Not back in UK until end of next week however. Yeovil/Portland.
