Hi,
Immediately in Southampton, Netley SC has a few modern boats I believe. Then going East it's Hayling Island which has a good sizeable fleet of fast sailors.
Lymington Town SC (our club) is trying to hard to encourage numbers There are 2 very young boats (3751 and 3748) out very regularly (you can race 3 times a week at Lymington with up to 40+ boats) plus some negotiations are underway for several more to join in the immediate few weeks. The Merlins are well supported by the club and I suspect we will have at least half a dozen by this time next year.
Visitors are welcome at LTSC so if you fancy a Monday / Weds PM race or a sunday jaunt to see what its about just let us know and we'll arrange a welcome.
Next stop west for Merlins is the nice folk down at Parkstone!
cheers

Slightly off the subject, but any advice on sailing opportunities for a non driver at Southampton Uni? No.1 crew is just about to leave for a place there and a lot of the clubs look tricky to get to if you're not driving

teamracing for the uni... then you can get lifts with the team.

I have a boat and can drive and am looking to both sail at a club and do certain events throughout the year. Text me on 07845680619

Hi Steve - yes agreed, I can see it won't be too long before I'll be being told what to do in the boat - will have to up my game quite a bit I think!
