Could we possibly put a link to these pages somewhere on the website?
They used to be accessed via the 'event build up' pages but since we now have a dedicated Nationals website we don't do them anymore. It took a little while of searching back through old events to find this link.

From the homepage, select LIBRARY then ASSOCIATION to see the links to lists of class champions.

And don't forget the SEARCH box on the homepage!

Jez I'll see if I can add a link to the past ST winners page on the latest ST results page. Once you can reach one of them there are links to the others.
Nice to know someone looks at these records ;-)

That would be great Ross. It seems a shame to have such a wealth of information somewhere it can't be seen easily.

I hardly think three mouse clicks is difficult even for us over 60's!

It is only 3 mouse clicks if you know where it is.
Given how much I use this website, even I could not find them. I think it is a shame that this information is not there in front of you if you are a new or potential member looking at the site.

WOuld it not be nice to have a link on the home page under the Association title to 'Class Champions'. There is space for it and I am sure they have all earned the recognition.

I'll add a link to the past nationals winners from the champs website too, which with Ross doing his bit should improve access.

Thanks Sophie, I think that would be nice. I think when entering things like the champs it is always nice to see what you are aiming for!
Maybe for me we should list past winners of the buttercup?! (although I would actually be on that list!)

With over 100 pages of content, not including past race reports and future event details, it is inevitable that 3 clicks (and some looking at lists) is required to find anything.
For anyone using any website - please, embrace the search box! It can be so much quicker, at the expense of moving your hand off the mouse to type one or two words!

I did try but got nothing. Clearly I typed the wrong thing in!!
Mags, Please don't take this as a criticism, just an observation. We have one of, if not the best website for a dinghy class.

Would there be any chance of a similar page for Midland Circuit winners. Would be happy to compile a spreadsheet of details if this would help and the records exist?

If you write it (and agree to update it next year), I'll publish it!

Hi Mags, Done deal. I think the records from 1999 on are already on the site. Do you know who will have the records, if they exist prior to that? What format would you like the data in? Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian
I setup the grand slam page the other year but never got round to doing the Midland circuit. All the helm winners are in the yearbook. What I did with the ST and Salcombe pages was try to provide much more detail than in the year book, e.g. crew, boat, design, etc. I got hold of the ST trophy while Alex had it and took the details from that. It might be the midland trophy will have info on. If not then the forum is a great place to get input. We managed to get all bar 2 of the winning crews for Salcombe week.
Once have the details wouldn't take long to setup page like the others.

Many thanks Ross. Have made a start with the details in the Yearbook and on the website. At the moment I am trying to compile 1st, 2nd & 3rd Helm/Crew plus winning boat Number/Name/Design/Builder/Designer. Pre 1999 could be more difficult as there are no records on the website. Martin Smith has the Midland records and I will see him at the Barrel this weekend so will ask him if there are any old results. Once I have done that I will have to start a thread to see if I can fill in the gaps. Will let you know how I get on.
