As many of you will already know Bob died suddenly the Friday before last.
As an association we did propose to send flowers but at the request of the family they have asked for Donations to the RNLI.
We therefore sent a donation on the associations behalf to RNLI.

on behalf of the class we send our condolances to Bob's family and friends at this sad time.

I'm very sorry to read Paul's report. I probably first met Bob at the 1957 championship at Torquay when he was 2nd overall. He had previously tied for 6th place with Alan Warren's mother and father in 1955 and later won in 1960. Bob was not a friend and I didn't buy boats from him but I raced against him in 5 of the 6 championships in which he was in the first six and never beat him. I admired him enormously.
