longer than the one i shortened while unaware it wasn't threaded round the boat at the champs................

I usually buy 17m and trim accordingly.

Twice the length from the middle to one end??

I replaced mine recently and it's about 15.5m.  4mm pre-stretch seems to work fine.

I have done 2 recently and both were a fraction over 15m. I find anymore than that and it is either around your feet in the boat or dragging in the water under the kite.
