Topic : Salcombe boats racing there since new

There was a thread I've lost discussing boats, since new, that have attended Salcombe without missing a year. I'd like to put up Paranoia as a possibility. Built in 1982 by Laurie (but might have been too late to attend that year), bought by Tony Johnson in 1984 and then by me in 1987. She hasn't missed a Salcombe with me and I suspect neither with Tony between 84 - 87 so if Laurie could confirm he attended Salcombe when he owned her she could rack up to 30 years unbroken attendance.

Plus I think you can see her bow on the front of the latest Mag (it's the wooden one!!).

Any more takers?

Dave, I can confirm that it is Paranoia that you can see on the front cover of the Magazine. We had been desperatly trying to hold you off through the bag and down to the line, which we managed in the end, but only just!!

I've been trying to work out when this taken - I was clearly on port and you on starboard so I hope I behaved myself - for a change!

Confirmed with Laurie he sailed Paranoia at Salcombe when he owned her, so unless anyone has another contender?

Having idly started this thread a while back I think my original question is answered and it appears that Paranoia 3291 (launched 1982) is the oldest boat to have always attended Salcombe week (every year from new). She is also coming up for the 30th anniversary of her first appearance. Must be worth some sort of a prize?
