Topic : Stu Bithell leading ISAF Worlds in Perth

Our boys, Stu Bithell and Luke Patience, are in the top spot at Perth this evening.
Early days, there have only been two days racing so far.
Does anyone know if this is likely to be final selection time for the 470's?
We wish them luck anyway

My understanding is that this is the last chance to influance the selection and that up till now it was pretty tight. Looks like they are doing all the right things at the moment. Good luck lads.

Looks like 2 teams are closing in. Will they close it out to two teams with Willmot/Ellis being given the opportunity they richly deserve to take on Patience/Bithel for the slot. Having been only held back by the phenominal AUS team, the RYA owe that to Willmot/Ellis unless they fall away and Patience/Bithel open up a margin and stay in the top 2.

Think one of these two teams should have done the test event as Rogers/Grube was an untested new team on the Olympic circuit earlier this year and feel they have to much to achieve to go for gold in WEymouth, but I might be wrong.

The other advantage of keeping selection open longer, is that competition remains hotter for longer.

Another one where we dominate but only one goes is the Fin. Just look and see how close Perth is in that fleet.

Silly if you ask me, we could easily double our medal count if more than one team were eligable - the chinese won gold, silver and bronze in the table tennis...

Think of what our results would be in the Finn class if 3 boats were allowed in each class!!

Well technically Stu and Luke can take it but 18 points from a possible 18 is very unlikely. Next task match race the Croatians for Silver.

Impressive results in a madly competitive fleet.

Golden rule. Dont thump the media. At least Ben could represent GBR in the wrestling!
Well done Luke and Stu.
