MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Wembley Silver Tiller

The Silver Tiller is back after the summer break on 25th Sept at Wembley SC. We're following the successful and popular format of last year with 3 races back to back from 11.30am

Entry fee includes tea and bacon rolls on arrival, on the water refreshments, mars bars etc plus the now famous chilli con carne tea afterwards.

This year we have some fab przes from Rooster for places, plus first prime of life (boat over 10 years old) and 1st vintage boat (over 40 years old). There is also a prize and trophy for 1st helm & crew over 100 years old (combined age!!!). We think the river boats can really give the newer boats a run for their money at the Harp as being able to tack quickly is often an advantage at Wembley so we hope in particular to see plenty of our fellow sailors from the Thames area join us this year as well as everyone else.

If anyone is travelling to Minima the week before and wants to leave their boat at Wembley for the week, I can arrange it so please email me.

Hope to see you all there.

Only a week to go now. For those still undecided and if the great sailing, chilli, bacon bap, on the water refreshments, views of Wembley Stadium plus warm Wembley SC welcome isn't enough here are a few of the prizes on offer over and above the commerative mugs, trophies etc: 35 litre holdalls, bouyancy aid, aquafleece, polypro socks, beanie hats, regatta towels........

see you there!

It was a shame, but Jo was not feeling well and so she had to come first. Next year we can try again!!
