They were used to break a tie at Tammy, 3 boats all with the same score after discard:
1079 - 1, 2, (2) 3088 - 2, 1, (3) 3347 -(3), 2, 1
3347 ended up 2nd overall due to the last race rule but had not actually beaten either of the other 2 boats when they met. (3rd to 1079 in first race and 2nd to 3088 in second). In the 3rd race 1079, & 3088 plus the other 2 race winners sailed the 1st flight. 3347 was in the secong flight......hardly seems fair but I guess those are the rules.... I blame the seeder !

Always thought the last race rule was an odd one since it's often the easiest race to win as less boats tend to take part.

quite hard to work out ., look at salcombe week 13th and 14th , 15th and 16th and 18th and 19th.....each pair shred points but highest place goes to either , the boat that beat other boat, or highest score, or discard.....random ask the RYA!!!!
