Ross,

What does this all mean then with the remaining few events?

Can I still win it?!!

Who is the smart money on? It looks tight at the top.

It is down to Matt Simon and Richard now as nobody else has a good enough sea result to challenge them, apart for Dave maybe but he would need to win the remaining four opens with a 30+ turnout at them all.

It could well boil down to the sea results in the end as these cannot be improved on and Matt is counting a full 1 point, Simon a .9 and Richard a .8

Therefore, unless we get a 40+ turn out at one of the events Richard is the only one who can score better that 4.1 total. It is, however, likely that there will be a 40+ turn out at Hollingworth given its popularity and the ST Dinner so I think it is going to go to the wire.

I think Mat is most likely to win Blithfield so Simon will need to win Starcross then it will be a straight fight between them at Hollingworth.

Maybe next year we could organise for a Sea event to be held closer towards the end of the series to keep it a little more open? If there were one of each still remaining in the last 4 a number of people would still be in with a chance at the very least.

Been a good year though, and we are looking forward to the final 2 events at Blithfield and Hollingworth.

How does this scoring system work ?

HHmmm, tricky one!

It's a function of mileage, consumption and sociability. There's a black art formula that takes into account your post code, beer/red bull drunk, disco's DJ'd, lateness of arrival, ciggies smoked and sobriety of crew.

(It really works, check it out on the leading 3!)

Come on Ross - we need to know whats what now!
Only 2 to go who can still win?
Can Steve and Gill Leany beat us or Duncan???
Could we catch Richard Adams and Rob?
Everyone has there their place on the pecking order - if Dan got 2 firsts could he still beat us?

Sorry you're all going to have to wait a bit longer full full update as the results didn't include helm or crew. I need these as ST is based on the Helm and not the boat.

Si and Alex's win has put them back in the overall lead however, so it is upto Matt and Richard to challenge at the last 2 opens. Looks like being a close one!!!

OK the top 3 lloks like this:

Place Score Sail No Helm Crew(s)
1 4.3 3707 Simon Blake Alex Jackson
2 4.6 3705 Matt Biggs Ben Hollis
3 5.2 3703 Richard Whitworth Olly Turner

Matt needs to win both remaining opens with a 0.8 and 0.7, i.e. 30+ and 40+

If Simon wins Blithfield with a 0.8, Richard needs to win Hollingworth with a 0.8. They will both be on identical top 5 results, but Richard win by his best discard.

If Simon doesn't win Blithfield, then Richard only needs a 0.9 at Hollingworth, again winning by his best discard.

Hope that makes things nice a clear...

Glad I'm not involved, not sure I could handle the pressure ;-)
