Some of you may know, and some may not, that earlier in the summer I took over SailSport from Blackie. You may well ask why? And I ask myself that question quite often. 

Anyway, this isn't a direct plug for SailSport, but a plug for something else, but something that will benefit all my Merlin sailing acquaintances - 

not satisfied with taking on a type of business that reputedly the only way to make a small fortune in is to start with a large fortune, I also decided that there is a certain online auction house that has too much of a monopoly, ( I won't name names ) and not only charges you to list your items but also charges about 10% of your sale on the final price.

So here is my plan, an online auction site for sailors that doesn't charge anything for basic listings and doesn't charge a final auction fee, so in effect, free.

All I need is some people to start using it.

So as an incentive - if you register and list an item for sale on www.SailBid.co  and then e-mail me and let me know I will give you £5 to spend at www.SailSport.co.uk for the first thing you list.

Whats more, unlike other monopoloy auction sites, you are allowed to advertise elsewhere, so if you have something on the boats or bits for Sale list why not increase the chance of selling them by putting them up on www.SailBid.co

( and .co isn't a mistake, thats a new type of domain, but www.SailBid.co.uk works too)
