Topic : Wembley SC Silver Tiller and Training 18/19th Sept

Just a reminder that Wembley's Silver Tiller is on 19th September, the weekend after Brightlingsea. We also have our training event which is open to all on Saturday 18th Sept (see post elsewhere on forum).

Discount on the entry fee for 3 or more boats from the same visiting club. Free breakfast bap, on the water refreshments plus hot tea/late lunch included in the entry fee.

Prizes for places, plus 1st boat 10-20 years old, 1st boat 20 years plus and 1st helm over 60 years of age. First start 11.30am, 3 races back to back

Yep - thought that it would give a few people more time to arrive plus those with long journeys can get on the road home earlier rather than spend half the day launching and recovering. There will be a speed boat on hand with refreshments and we are hoping to schedule in a short WC break between races if needed so you can hold boats on the pontoons and nip to the changing rooms and back.

Thanks, I will need WC breaks...my bladder control is as good as my hiking!

If minor dehydration didn't affect the brain so much it would be easy to cope with hours on the water.

Hi all, just an update for this weekend. We finally worked out the prizes, a total of 13 up for grabs on Sunday!!!! These will be:

1st - 4th overall
1st boat 10 - 20 years old (3571 - 3442) as registered before 1st Jan 2000
1st boat 20 years and older (3441 - 1) as registered before 1st Jan 1990
1st helm over 60 years of age (as at 19 September 2010)
Most consistant performance at meeting
Furthest traveller distance prize
1st helm and crew related prize
1st helm and crew with combined age over 100 (as at 19 Sept 2010)
The WSC's Commodore's discretionary prize and another TBC

The prizes on offer are:
Merlin Spinney sheets
Casio sailing watches
Falker Burgees
Mast end socks
Knitted thermal Hats
Balaclavas
Caps

Prizes for both helms and crews (in case it wasn't clear!) Only one prize per boat, so come and join us for what we're sure will be a fun day and hopefully almost everyone has a chance of bagging something!!!
