With getting to the starting area etc, can you advise where the races are normally held?

Racing normally takes place east or west of the Lymington River depending on the wind direction and tide time. Its normally 20 minutes to the sailing area again depending on conditions. The western Solent is a great place to sail and the club is amazingly friendly. Good catering as well.

Whats the closest camp site to the club?

Have a look at the following link to google maps, there are a couple of campsites relatively near by. The Club is situated on Bath Road as a reference point.

Forecast is looking good. There were 3 merlins out last night for the wednesday evening race, all looking forward to venturing out with more boats this weekend!

Lou, What is the entry fee for Sunday only? and What time will the club be open Sunday morning? Going to have to leave early to get there in time!

The club is open from 8am on sunday, entry fees amended today after some negotiation and the late entry fee has been dropped, so it is £30.00 for 2 days and £15 for one day.

OK I've worked out the ST results for Sunday only. Assuming races 4 to 6. I have removed two boats who only completed on the Sat, i.e. not entered for the ST on Sun. If I hear no comments will assume this is correct and publish the ST overall.

2 3610 Richard Dee Chris Gould 1 3 2 3

3604 retired from the first race. If that makes a difference:->

What were the conditions like?

Lymington have 3604 finishing 11th out of 13 finishers in race 4. Is that incorrect? Not really for me to amend the results....

Doing the maths on moving 12th and 13th up a place won't seem to impact on the results thankfully so we can ignore that I believe

Pip - Conditions were fab. Started off fairly light, but got windier as the races went on which meant for some excellent three sail reaches in the last race.

It was a lovely place to sail, and made more spectcular by the massive racing yachts sailing through our course (from Cowes Week) they were fab to look at, although I am sure I should have been concentrating on what I was doing?!

Great venue and very well organised, race officer was straight down to business, even started the first race on time even though some of us had not reached the start area (fair play just as it should be) no hanging about between races, and a great smell of coffee from the committee boat !

Have to say that I did miss a mark out on the first race on Sunday - which was pointed out to me - hadn't looked at any instructions! I'm used to 3 marks not 4. Thought that if we arrived at the first mark in the lead, we would wait and overtake later.

I did go back to the Committee boat and told them that I had retired - and they acknowledged

It will have a massive effect on my overall Silver Tiller results for this year.

The latest ST results have been updated. I see there is not much crew-swapping this year, meaning the definition of the ST as a "helms competition" is losing strength.
