MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Twins

Please can somebody enlighten me as to how two boats can have different numbers and one of them be a gnome, the other being a summer wine. The former is in grafham and the latter in Scotland. They are advertised with exactly the same picture. The wine is on the merlin website and the gnome on appollo duck???????

VERY interesting, it is my boat 3324 on the merlin website and she is indeed a summer wine and now sold she is going to northern ireland, The apollo duck listing is not known to me but it definitely is my photo and taken outside my house, be aware the photo on the listing on Apollo duck is NOT the boat you will see if you go to view plagarism o,r something more sinister???

easy way to find out ... contact the owner and pretend to be an interested punter ... if he says thats the pic of the boat, you can guess fowl play is afoot!

I saw a photo of my boat on a French website the other day. Bad choice really as it showed a load of gaffer tape along a cracked gunwhale.

It seems some people just grab any 'similar' photo when placing an advert.

Often they grab an un-similar picture - there was the person selling a seventies Merlin using a photo of Kate (number 1) which is at least 2ft narrower! He got pulled by ebay for mis-representation when they were told.
