Topic : Nationals Entry

Entries from 3661 & 3555 who win the award for the most crumpled cheque so far! Looks like it went through the wash, but at least it came out better than my driving licence ... as long as the bank cashes it!

Hi Andy, yes it had been through the wash! It is nice and clean now though!

Entries now received from 3674, 3705, 3622 & 3708. Thanks.

Leading the battle of the clubs at the moment are Shoreham and Blithfield with 4 teams each, Starcross on 3. Hampton only has 2 confirmed entries so far - I am led to believe that the whole of Penzance has been booked up by the Hampton on Sea tour. Worryingly the Northern Massive is missing - only Trickie Dickie with Ollie sailing under three different sailing club banners can be loosely tied to Hollingworth.

Sorry Andy, only two enries from Brightlingsea on my spreadsheet, so only two counted. If you have some friends coming, tell them to get their Entries in!

Latest postbag brought 3695, and the Trent Valley travelling posse - team Browne 3629 & 3619

If you knew my race preparation you wouldn't expect the entry until 11:59pm on the 30th June!

Better get it in the post earlier - the deadline is arrival here in Devon on 1st July. Last post on 30th June or courier it here!!! Not sure that the Royal Mail does a collection at 23:59, unless you happen to have a pet postie in your pocket

My entry will be with Dave's to save on post, Tight in Brightlingsea!

Actually, if you are coming to Whitstable I think it is cost effective to give you the cheque there. The loss of interest on £150 (or rather the cost of borrowing) for a 5 days must be less than the cost of a stamp!

Hmmm now all I need to do is find a cheque book that the dog hasn't eaten.

To all those who have asked, I will NOT be at Whitstable. The cost for us to travel from Tavistock, Devon to Whitstable is considerably greater than the cost of the stamp. You are all going to have to rely on Royal Mail, sorry.

Latest news from the postbag is 3662 and 3716. Mr Winder's envelope included a very generous contribution to the funds for event.

Hi Andy

I am expecting entries from Andy Hayes 3474 and Robin Charles 3628 which should bring the Starcross total up to six boats.

Entries received by the deadline reached 50 boats.

3681 - Midnight Flight
3713 - Duck and Dive
3539 - Gangsta Paradise
3687 - Mellow Yellow
3717 - Rioja'n Roll
3610 - Needlemakers
3691 - Quick Fix
3400 - Dangerbatt
3665 - Still Not Over
3632 - Wild Knight
3628 - Trigger Happy
3676 - Hot Totty
3652 - Time & Tide
3474 - Skimbleshanks
3690 - General Lee
3644 - Poached Salmon

Some notable omissions - nothing from our Chairman, whoops. Charles Davenport has already booked their accommodation, but the cheque is not here! Nothing from Mr Gorringe, surprisingly, plus I was expecting some more from Brightlingsea. Mr Watson? Toshy? The Chadfields? Still awaiting for something from the P&B and North Sails works teams. Might make 60 boats yet.

Beware, I will be hassling during Salcombe week.

And yes, Starcross leads the way with 6 confirmed entrants - excellent effort by the most local Merlin club, followed by Shoreham and Blithfield with 5 a piece. I guess that the northern massive that is Hollingworth is not coming - with only the two Winder boats and the southern exile (Ticky Dickie).

57 boats on the list today, and nearly all have paid up!

Sorry Mags, another one for you - 3670 has paid up, I must have missed this from the list.

I am aware of at least three other boats that are not on the forum list, making 60, who are coming (one if he has finished his boat in time). Anyone else out there wants to join the fun?

Shame that there are no sub 3400 numbers and only two 34XX boats.
