Topic : Cunningham

We have just bought MR 3609 and are looking forward to getting her ready to sail. However on trying to get to grips with the rigging we have noticed that there is currently no cunningham facility fitted to the boat, is this usual?

for most people it's the last-ditch-emergency-toenails-can't-take-it-anymore depower control.

I only use mine when it's howling, however i wouldn't remove it completely.

Most boats have it. If you can lead it to the sidedecks it's best, as thats where you'll be when you need it!!

Or to remove those annoying looking creases just before the camera appears.

I use the cunningham to help pinch down the main sail a bit to help pop the main sail tack string on.

Whether I remember to let if off for the whole race seems to be closely correlated with results!
