MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Older Boats

Do you have a Merlin over 25 years old?? If so you could be in luck!! Oulton Week 2010 has seperate starts for the CVRDA eligible boats. Two races a day (but could join in with the modern plastic bottles, at dinnertime, to get three races a day). I can provide more info, if requested. It would be lovely to see a fleet of Classic Merlins sailing at Oulton..

Oooh, this is tempting! And my boat is 30 years old by then.

Is this run by the W&OBYC, or another?

This could be a great event for the Classic and Vintage boats. If I include all the maybes and possibles we will have over 50 CVRDA eligible boats competing. If I just count the definites (although that is always going to change sa far from the event) we have over 20 boats...

So go on get that old Merlin out of the garage and get to Oulton Broad on 22 - 27 August - We have the Adnams waiting!!

We now have been gifted, a free barrel a beer, a day for all classic and vintage sailors. This does not mean that all Classic and Vintage sailors will get a barrel each!! The drinks will be shared out amongst all the Classic and Vintage Sailors.
Go on, get to Oulton, you know it make sense,
Classic Boats, Classsic Event, Classic Regatta

What time are the daily starts? Are there more than one race a day? It's just that I run a village shop in Suffolk and would have to organise cover, but it is hard for me to leave before 10 from the Woodbridge area, also depends if 2717 is restored

The daily starts are 10:42 and 15:12 for CVRDA racing. You would also be welcome to join the fast handicap dinghies at 13:00. Full details on www.wobyc.co.uk

We will soon have entry forms on the site. Entry I believe is 1.50 GBP per race if entered early, and 2.00 GBP if entered on the day.

Regards

Jon
