Has anyone used a     -    Dotan Kick-up Rudder - Box 20 Blade -     Wood this be a good idea on a NSM2 ?

Looks good from the web, but I would be concerned about the maximum distance between the pintles - Hmax of 180mm look a little small, but depends upon your vessel. Also the blade is possibly a bit short, 516mm immersed depth might give you a bit of a control problem unless you keep the boat very upright.

At £236 from Rooster, it certainly is a cheaper option that a Winder Lifter.
