Topic : Cycling past the Thames clubs

Hi everyone
I've just spent and enjoyable (and exhausting!) day on The Stroke Association's Thames Bridges Bike Ride.
The tenuous Merlin link is that we cycled past at least 5 Merlin clubs all of which I have sailed in a Merlin at: Ranelagh, Tamesis, Minima, Thames and Hampton.
All the more impressively my new (as of last month) wife, Monica, accompanied me who was primarily doing the ride as strokes have affected both her parents.
I have yet to convince her that sailing is the way forward but she is coming to Salcombe again this year - maybe she needs to be involved in a sponsored sail .....

Brian,

I too was on the ride today along with 2,500 people covering 33 miles. I saw Merlins out sailing at nearly every sailing club we passed.

Great jazz bank at the end which I'm sure they could hear from Hampton Sailing Club.

Perhaps we should try and get a few more Merlin people involved next year.

I too was old riding along the Thames Saturday - fabulous day and we could certainly hear the Jazz band from 'round the bend. Still deciding which club to sail at though since I have 3 within a few miles of my house...
